No new snow, -2.0 deg, a few clouds, calm winds.
Variable spring like conditions. Melt freeze cycle on solar aspects, shallow dry pow in select sheltered terrain, and crust is easily found. 45 - 50 cm recent storm slab over the January 28 layer of surface hoar over various hardpack crusts. Otherwise a strong supportive snowpack.
It was a great day of spring skiing yesterday. Groups on Baldur skiing the ‘porn’ on South Beach, and butter in Butter Glades (of course). Dry shallow pow in Laid Back. Another group on Sol Mtn skiing the east bowl in the sun.
A few solar triggered loose wet avalanches yesterday from the cliff of Shiraz.
