At Sol, we keep things intentionally small. Whether you're trail running, hiking, or just settling into the rhythm of the lodge, there’s space to move at your own pace. Mornings in the alpine, afternoons by the lake, evenings back at the lodge with the sauna on.
We take care of everything so you can focus on being here.
Most guests join us for 4-night stays to fully settle into the experience. For groups looking to make it their own, full lodge bookings are available.

The window between snow melt and snowfall is brief at our elevation in the Monashee Mountains. Summer goes hard. Days are long, temperatures are moderate, colours are vibrant. Summer storms are best viewed from the deck.
It’s a free world up here. There is a pace and a place for everyone. All ages welcome.

Lodge Takeover
For retreats, special events, or family gatherings, the lodge hosts 14 people, with some private rooms available. We provide staff, including the chef team. Guided outings can be arranged. Summer access is by road. Helicopter flights from Revelstoke may be possible.

How to Get Here
Road access to the lodge requires a 4WD vehicle with good tires. Gravel roads can be rough and we are 55km away from town. Detailed directions are provided after you have booked.
Bike Racks
Some roof and hitch type racks are not suitable for the conditions. Transporting bikes inside a vehicle, trailer of truck box may be better. Car pooling is encouraged.
What to Bring
All linens, bedding, towels, soap, shampoo, and hand cream are provided.
Bring personal toiletries, outdoor gear, lodge shoes, and hangout clothes. A headlamp can be handy for night excursions. We have books, games, a stereo, two guitars, box drum, and mandolin.
The electricity is always on. Micro hydro and moonlight powered.
Hikers
Hiking groups should be prepared for mountain weather and emergency situations.
Here is a basic list:
Personal day pack with water bottle, sunscreen, sunhat, extra warm clothing, rain gear, blister repair kit
Outdoor clothing, boots, hat for extremes in mountain weather conditions (it can snow any month of the year) and bugs
Group basic first aid equipment (we have complete first aid including oxygen at the lodge)

You are a long ways from a bike shop! In addition to your bike, helmet, and basic tools bring:

We have 29km of trails. The riding includes punchy climbs, drops, rolls and engaging descents, all professionally built. Alpine routes are technical, families will enjoy shorter loops with fun features - bridges, rock crossings and neat roll overs.

Unload your gear at the lodge, sign waivers, return your vehicle to our guest parking lot and hike or bike the 2 km back. Leaving: pack up, load vehicles and return to the parking lot for departure on half-day plans.

Breakfast service at 7:30 AM. Lunches are pre-made and available at breakfast.
8:30 launch. Apres, sauna, showers, stretch as you wish. Dinner at 7:00.
Jazz lounge, yoga room, board games, campfires and stargazing.
Destinations
West Loop followed by Sol Lake trail, Crazy Train and Beacon Check.
Mt. Fosthall via South Caribou Pass.
South Caribou Pass to Infinity and Beyond for a full day of alpine tech. Be sure to stop for a swim at Sol Lake.
Morning loop of Beacon Check to Sassy Toe to Bearback Loop and Park n’ Ride back to the lodge. Afternoon hike up Beyond to Infinity Tarns, and Sol Lake for a sunset swim.
Be sure to descend the Ridge Trail to Crazy Train and Bunny Slabs.
Hit the Infinity and Beyond again because no one dials it the first time! And it is SO GOOD.

Adventures at Sol Mountain Lodge can include activities that at times may have a higher-than-normal element of risk. Once you venture into the backcountry you are entering an uncontrolled environment. At Sol Mountain Lodge we do our utmost to allow you to enjoy an exhilarating yet safe experience.
Guided trips are led by highly-trained, professionally-certified members of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides. Safety always comes first, Sol Mountain Lodge strives to ensure it is a key component of any backcountry experience.
