19 cm new snow yesterday, -3.5, broken skies, light west winds.
Yesterday was a stormy day, nuking all day. Then it warmed and blew hard last night from the west. Extensive west wind effect overnight. Up to 80 cm recent storm overlies surface hoar in sheltered terrain treeline and below, and isolated sun crust on steep SW asp. November 21 melt freeze crust is down 70-120 cm. Recent storm is filling things in out there for sure.
AMGA ski guide course in session. Groups skiing conservative terrain yesterday in Back to Basics, Laid Back, Shazam left, and Banana Belt
Natural and remotely triggered avalanches yesterday on the Nov 21 melt freeze crust, specific to steep previously shallow snowpack. We remotely triggered a size 2 slab from the Laid Back skin track, and other pockets released below Hollywood Chutes, Baldur Ridge, and above the lodge on Merlot slabs.
