It's your British Columbia backcountry lodge holiday. Sol Mountains BC backcountry skiing program is designed to meet your expectations.

We make this happen by letting you decide the length of stay, type of trip, and the skiing pace. Choose from four, six or seven night stays, fully guided and catered or self guided private lodge rental. Please contact us so we can customize your vacation.

Sol Mountain Lodge is open from early December to mid-April. A four-night guided and catered stay is

CA$1,400 Canadian dollars per person, and a seven-night stay is CA$2,225. Those new to backcountry skiing or snowboarding can take a four-night catered course that includes avalanche safety training and equipment rental (CA$1,525). Self-guided and self-catered lodge rentals are also available, but recommended for experienced backcountry skiers only (13 guests, seven nights, $1200 per person).

We take pride in our unique and flexible approach by meeting the needs of diverse visitors: Expert and intermediate backcountry skiers can spend four, six, or seven nights at the lodge instead of the standard and restrictive seven nights typical of most lodges. Some come to learn from and follow in the tracks of our expert guides, while others come to test themselves and explore the many reaches of our wilderness tenure.

Guided and Catered Option:

Full Service: Room for up to 16 guests

This is the fully guided and catered BC backcountry lodge trip. You only need to eat, sleep, and ski - the rest is up to us. Certified ACMG guides who know the terrain ensure that you find quality skiing no matter the weather. Book as a full or part group, couples, or individual - we combine small groups to fill the trip - each group skis with their own guide. We normally ski in small groups with one guide for each 4-6 guests.

Self-guided/ Self-catered Option:

Private Lodge Rental: Min 13 guests - room for up to 18 guests

This year we have made it easier to book the lodge for private self-guided groups with a minimum group number of 13 and the 14th guest is free! The group must describe their level of experience and competency prior to booking and have a trip leader. Sol Mountain Touring insists that groups with limited experience be guided. A caretaker will remain at the lodge to ensure that the lodge functions smoothly during your stay.

If you do not have a full group we will combine groups to fill the lodge, this relieves you of the chore of organizing a full group. Our lodge easily accommodates mixed groups with a large commercial kitchen and private rooms. Certain trips will be set aside for mixed groups – contact our booking office.

Low December Rates

Offering the shorter days of December before the New Years trip at 25% off regular season lodging rates, a 4 night self guided/catered trip is $690 per person! Guiding and catering available, each at $65 / person per day.

HST

12 % HST applies to all trip costs . No rate increase for 2012 trips.

Private Lodge Rental accommodates 13 - 18 guests. Exclusive rental must book 13 people, 14th guest is free (additional guests >14 are $1200– 7 nights, $1070– 6 nights, $830- 4 nights and $705– 3 nights), caretakers will accompany group.
Guided and Catered accommodates 12 - 16 people, 1 guide for 5-7 guests, 3 guides for 14 or more guests.

Reservations

Payment is preferred by cheque, email money transfer, money order, or Visa and Mastercard also accepted (2% CC service charge applies).

Follow these steps for reserving you trip:

Check our availability and select your trip from available dates. Contact our booking office, booking(at)solmountain.com or 250.674.3707 to let us know of interested dates. Book individually, as a part group, or as a full group of 12 or more.
Send us a 30% deposit to confirm your booking. Include contact information and requested dates. Once we have received your deposit, we will send you a reservation package.
The remainder of your trip cost is due on the November 15 prior to your trip. Once full payment is received a trip confirmation package will be sent to you.
Refund Policy: All payments are non-refundable UNLESS your spot can be filled (less $50 administration fee). We recommend you purchase Trip Cancellation Insurance once you confirm your trip.

Discounts

This year we have reduced the group number to 13 for Private Lodge rental paying as a full group - 14th guest is free. This discount can be used by the group organizer or spread amongst the group = $1114 per person.

5% couple discount for people booking and making payment for two or more on all regular season guided and catered trips.

Refunds

Refund Policy:

All payments are non-refundable unless we (or you) are able to rebook the space at full price. Refunds will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

All cancellations must be made in writing.

If you are unable to come at the last minute due to injury, travel complications, inability to enter the country, etc. there will be no refunds or ski credits given. Trips will not be cancelled due to weather or snow conditions.

Sol Mountain's reservation and cancellation policies are standard in this industry.

We HIGHLY recommend to purchase Trip cancellation insurance right away after booking your trip - contact your local travel agent or Travel Underwriters at 1.800.663.5389.

Waiver of Liability

Sol Mountain Touring is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable mountain experience. Ski touring in the backcountry mountain environment exposes skiers to inherent risks. All guests must read and sign a Release of Liability and Waiver of Claims Agreement before the start of a holiday at Sol Mountain Touring. This is common practice for all backcountry ski operations in British Columbia. Be sure to review the waiver prior to your holiday. Contact us if you have any questions.

Non Skiers & Kids

Non-skiers are welcome to join groups. Cost is only helicopter, food, and accommodation (no guiding cost). Our policy for children under 12 years old is heli cost only. Children over 12 are welcome at a reduced rate, please contact us for details. Minors are also welcome to join groups if they are strong skiers and accompanied by a parent.

Trip Cancellation Insurance

Trips will not be cancelled due to weather conditions, poor ski conditions, or personal unexpected circumstances. This is typical of any holiday in the vacation accommodation industry (ie. booking a holiday in Hawaii).
