XC Skiing and Snowshoeing at Sol Mountain

Sol Mountain’s terrain offers great areas to cross country ski.  Step out the door and ski off into rolling alpine meadows. With XC touring gear you can climb above the lodge to Mission Ridge for dramatic views of glaciers and rugged peaks to the north. Trips can also be made to passes and surrounding lakes.

We provide trackset trails in the meadows when snow conditions permit (sometimes it is simply too deep!).  Cross country skiing is best on the settled snowpack of late winter and early spring.

Sol Mountain's terrain can also be enjoyed on snowshoes.

Starting in early November with an average one-meter snowpack and continues well into May with over three meters of settled snow. This gives you a solid seven months to explore our thirty thousand acres of old growth forests, alpine meadows, lakes, and ridgelines, and challenging summits.
