BC backcountry skiing and hiking lodge south of Revelstoke and east of Vernon in the heart of the Monashees
Sol Mountain’s BC backcountry lodge is in the heart of the southern Monashee Mountain Range, a 2.5 hour drive from Revelstoke or Nakusp on the east side of Monashee Provincial Park.
Getting Here
Summer guests access the lodge by 4WD vehicle on maintained forestry roads. Helicopter transport is available from Revelstoke or Sugar Lake – enquire for rates.
It is a 2.5 hour drive from Revelstoke or Nakusp. From Revelstoke travel south to Shelter Bay Ferry, and from Nakusp travel south to Arrow Park Ferry. Follow our signs and detailed directions for the 60 km of forestry road to our lodge access road from the North Fosthall drainage. From here guests hike into the lodge and all gear and food is brought in by Sol staff or one guest vehicle.
Enjoy the scenic stops at waterfalls and rec sites along Arrow Lake.
Shuttle Services
For guests that do not have a suitable 4WD vehicle for driving the forestry access road to the lodge – we can provide transportation in a lodge vehicle for $75 round trip.
For full groups requiring transportation to the lodge we can arrange van shuttle with Revelstoke Taxi.
Helicopter transport is also available from Revelstoke – enquire for rates.
What to Bring
Sol Mountain is a fully serviced backcountry lodge complete with electricity and indoor plumbing, and a wood-fired cedar sauna.
The lodge is well outfitted for entertainment needs (including a bar) with books, games, stereo system (bring your MP3 or CD’s), a guitar, box drum, and mandolin.
All bedding and towels are provided.
Lodge Items to bring:
Headlamp, lodge clothes, and slippers or hut shoes. Music – CD’s or Ipod / MP3 player.
Hiking guests should be prepared for mountain weather. Here is a basic list:
- Personal day pack with water bottle, sunscreen, extra warm clothing, rain gear, blister repair kit
- Outdoor clothing, boots, and hat for extremes in mountain weather conditions (it can snow any month of the year) and bugs
- Guides are prepared for emergency situations with basic first aid and overnight gear. Self-guided guests should bring emergency gear.
