It's your British Columbia backcountry lodge holiday. Sol Mountains BC backcountry hiking program meets your pace and holiday schedule.
We make this happen by letting you decide the length of stay, and type of trip at your hiking pace. Choose from stays of three nights or longer, fully guided and catered or self guided private lodge rental. Please contact us so we can customize your vacation.
Sol Mountain hiking season begins in mid July after the snow melts, until mid September when the snow returns.
A four-night guided and catered stay is $980 per person. Self-guided and self-catered private lodge rentals are also available for $1100 per night for 14 guests. If you do not have a full group you can book individually for $95 per night.
We take pride in our unique and flexible approach by meeting the needs of diverse visitors: Hikers can choose their own length of stay at the lodge instead of the standard and restrictive seven nights typical of most lodges. Some come to learn from and follow in the path of our expert guides, while others come explore the many reaches of our wilderness tenure on their own.
Guided and Catered Option:
Full Service: Room for up to 16 guests
This is the fully guided and catered BC backcountry hiking lodge trip. You only need to eat, sleep, and hike - the rest is up to us. Certified ACMG guides who know the terrain ensure that you see new hikes each day and share the flora and fauna along the way. Book as a full or part group, couples, or individual - we combine small groups to fill the trip.
Self-guided/ Self-catered Option:
Private Lodge Rental: Room for up to 18 guests
The lodge is available to private self-guided guests, booking as a full group or individuals and part groups sharing the lodge. Self-guided guests must describe their level of experience and competency prior to booking. Sol Mountain Touring insists that groups with limited experience be guided. A caretaker will remain at the lodge to ensure that the lodge functions smoothly during your stay. For exclusive use of the lodge you need to book a minimum of 14 people. If you do not have a full group we will combine groups to fill the lodge, this relieves you of the chore of organizing a full group. Our lodge easily accommodates mixed groups with a large commercial kitchen and private rooms.
Rates
2012 Self guided and self catered private room rates are $95 / night per person for shared dbl room and $150 for private sngl + 12 % HST per night for vehicle access. Helicopter or van shuttle transport available – enquire for rates.
Private groups may rent the lodge exclusively for stays of 3 nights or more for $1100 + 12 % HST per night for up to 14 guests, additional guests $80 per night. A 2 night lodge rental is available for $1350 per night. Reduced rates for children. Guiding and catering / housekeeping available.
A 4 night Guided and Catered Cost trip is $980 + 12 % HST per person for double room and $1200 for single private room – vehicle access. Experienced guides lead you to ridges and peaks and our chef treats you to gourmet dining at the lodge. Helicopter or van shuttle transport available – enquire for rates. Custom trip lengths available.

Reservations
Payment is preferred by cheque, email money transfer, money order, or Visa and Mastercard also accepted - 2% service charge applies for credit cards.
Follow these steps for reserving you trip:
- Check our availability and select your trip from available dates. Contact our booking office, booking(at)solmountain.com or 250.674.3707 to let us know of interested dates. Book as a full group of 14 or more or as a small group.
- Send us a 50% deposit to confirm your booking. Include contact information and requested dates. Once we have received your deposit, we will send you a reservation package.
- The remainder of your trip cost is due June 15. Once full payment is received a trip confirmation package will be sent to you.
- Refund Policy: All payments are non-refundable UNLESS your spot can be filled (less $50 administration fee).
Refunds
Refund Policy:
All payments are non-refundable unless we (or you) are able to rebook the space at full price. Refunds will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
All cancellations must be made in writing.
If you are unable to come at the last minute due to injury, travel complications, inability to enter the country, etc. there will be no refunds or credits given. Trips will not be cancelled due to weather.
Sol Mountains reservation and cancellation policies are standard in this industry.

Waiver of Liability
Sol Mountain Touring is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable mountain experience. Hiking in the backcountry mountain environment exposes skiers to inherent risks. All guests must read and sign a Release of Liability and Waiver of Claims Agreement before the start of a holiday at Sol Mountain Touring. This is common practice for all backcountry ski operations in British Columbia. Be sure to review the waiver prior to your holiday. Contact us if you have any questions.
Trip Cancellation Insurance
Trips will not be cancelled due to weather conditions or personal unexpected circumstances. This is typical of any holiday in the vacation accommodation industry (ie. booking a holiday in Hawaii). We strongly recommended you purchase trip cancellation insurance. Contact your local travel agency or Travel Underwriters at 1-800-663-5389.
