| Winter
in the Monashees is long and deep. Snowshoeing
at Sol Mountain starts in early November with an average one-meter
snowpack and continues well into May with over three meters of settled
snow. This gives you a solid seven months to explore our thirty
thousand acres of old growth forests, alpine meadows, lakes, and
ridgelines, and challenging summits.
From
our back door explore rolling open meadows. Or make the two-hour
trek to Mission Ridge for huge views of rugged peaks and glaciers.
Follow the ridge to access dramatic alpine terrain surrounding Mt
Fosthall and Peter and Margie Lakes.
Out
the front door drop into old growth forests and subalpine lakes….a
full days trek opens up an endless list of peaks and lakes such
as Mt Baldur or Twin Peaks Lake.
Full
days in the mountains are best capped off with a soothing rest in
our wood heated cedar sauna.
