Comfort Off the Grid

Family owned and operated by Aaron and Sabine Cooperman, we designed Sol to feel like our home —off the grid, with all the comforts. Guests have private rooms, with indoor bathrooms, showers, a dry room for gear, wood-stove heated sauna, yoga and stretching studio. On the main floor is a full kitchen, lounge, and a stand-up bar where you can lean into après, stocked with craft beers and a curated selection of VQA BC wines. Micro-hydro keeps the lights on.

Night skiing compliments of every full moon.

Chef’s Table

We like to eat well. Our chefs create meals and snacks that feature local BC products from farms and suppliers we have sourced, with an emphasis on fresh, sustainable and organic whenever possible. All dietary needs are met with imagination.

Sustainability

Sol is our home away from home. We treat the mountains as the precious, vulnerable environment that it is and take great care to minimize our footprint.

What we do:

  • Micro-hydro and solar power provides clean, off the grid energy

  • Compost goes to our garden in Clearwater

  • Vegetarian meals make up fifty percent of our menu

  • Locally raised meats and produce

  • Regionally produced beer and VQA wines

What you can do:

  • Bring your own lunch and snack containers

  • Carpool to the staging areas

  • Extend your stay in the region

  • Utilize carbon offset opportunities

Assumption of Risks

Adventures at Sol Mountain Lodge can include activities that at times may have a higher-than-normal element of risk. Once you venture into the backcountry you are entering an uncontrolled environment. At Sol Mountain Lodge we do our utmost to allow you to enjoy an exhilarating yet safe experience.

Guided trips are led by highly-trained, professionally-certified members of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides. Safety always comes first, Sol Mountain Lodge strives to ensure it is a key component of any backcountry experience.

In order to help you be aware of the level of risk associated with the specific backcountry activity you are participating in, we encourage you to review the “Assumption of Risks” portion on the Sol Mountain Lodge Waiver. This will allow you to be prepared, have peace of mind and make your trip as memorable as possible.
